Youth can make a change!
He was only in the 6th grade when he presented the idea to the local community. He soon got donations and grants. Then he stared putting together educational presentations.
He called his presentations "Turtle Talk". For the elementary schools, he would dress up in a turtle costume. Zander went to many counties in Flordia, then went as far away as Costa Rica, Trinidad, and Panama.
The presentations would be mainly about the Loggerhead Sea Turtles. By the time he was a senior in high school, he has educated more than 5,000 people about turtles. These kinds of turtles are being watched becuase the population of turtles are dieing out.
To reach out to more people, his mentor Linda and he published a children's book. Zander has won many award for his humbles acts. He still is teaching people of the importance of keeping the beaches clean for the turtles to live on. You can make a change too!
